Toughbook is a better choice for a healthy ROI

Toughbook ROIToughbook-ROI-blog

The experience of manufacturing rugged notebook computers to military standard has taught us to take durability very seriously – therefore protecting your investment by ensuring a lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

We have been building our Toughbooks in our own factory for 15 years, continually finding ways to meet the demands of our customer’s mission critical environments. We want you to take your Toughbook from the office, to the road, the field or a warzone with nothing but complete confidence. Engineered to withstand drops, spills, dust and dirt, Toughbook computers go where you go, and they are ready to perform in spite of harsh environments and rough handling. This reliability also affects the bottom line, ensuring that a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) nets you a greater return on investment (ROI).

Rugged features protect your investment

The experience of manufacturing rugged notebook computers for field service, law enforcement, public safety and the military applications has taught us to take durability very seriously. Our Toughbooks are constructed of the strongest materials to protect your investment. The LCD screen is the single most expensive component on any notebook computer and we protect it by using full or partial magnesium cabinet materials. The internal components of your Toughbook are safe from harm, thanks to a chassis that is constructed using full or partial magnesium cases or fibreglass-reinforced materials. When it comes to the Hard Disk Drive, we recognise that this fragile component can be the single most valuable item to you. In order to ensure that your data is safe, we employ the use of flex connectors and gel packaging to improve vibration and shock resistance far beyond other notebook manufacturers.

We put our Toughbooks to the test

You only have to see the torture we put our Toughbooks through at the factory to know why they are so reliable in the field. The technicians at Panasonic R&D are so demanding that more than 1,000 Toughbook notebooks are deliberately damaged every year, to ensure that our computers exceed MIL-STD requirements. In total, every unit built passes more than 500 checks and tests before they meet our high standards of quality and durability.

The Toughbook cost advantage

The quality, durability and reliability of Panasonic Toughbook mobile computers translate into significant financial advantages. In situations that would damage conventional computers, rugged Toughbook computers keep performing. As a result, you eliminate costly repairs or replacements, and avoid wasting time to recover lost work. The bottom-line results are compelling: lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and greater return on investment (ROI) over the computer’s useful life.
