Panasonic to unveil ground-breaking broadcast technology at SMPTE expo

Panasonic will showcase our latest Broadcast and Professional Video Solutions at the upcoming SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) expo, including our ground-breaking AG-DVX200G 4K broadcast camcorder, a 4/3-sensor large format camcorder with integrated zoom lens.

Held from the 14-17 July at the Hordern Pavillion, Sydney, SMPTE15 is the premier event for the motion imaging and television engineering industries in the Australasian region. Bringing together suppliers, technologists and content creators in the motion-imaging, sound and broadcast industries, SMPTE15 will showcase the latest technologies, workflows and creative tools.

We’ll be unveiling two new products, the AG-DVX200G 4K 4/3-sensor camera and AW-HEA10 control assist camera, and new functions added to existing products. The new functions are Ver4.0 firmware for the Varicam35 and VaricamHS cameras and IT workflows for the AJ-PX series of cameras.

AG-DVX200G 4K 4/3-sensor Camera

For the first time in Australia the new and ground-breaking AG-DVX200G 4K camcorder will be on display. The AG-DVX200G is the world’s first* 4/3-sensor large format camcorder with integrated zoom lens. Capturing stunning imagery by virtue of an advanced large format 4K imager combined with a cutting-edge 4K video processing engine and a LEICA DICOMAR 4K 13x zoom lens the AG-DVX200G seamlessly blends the aesthetics of shallow focus, attractive Bokeh with an amazing 12 stop dynamic range and VariCam style V-Log L processing. To make the whole package easy-to-use a newly designed lens-integrated body provides excellent mobility and extra flexibility.

AW-HEA10 Control Assist Camera System

Also new is the AW-HEA10 Control Assist Camera system. Making the control of Panasonics range of broadcast quality integrated pan/tilt/zoom cameras easy to use the AW-HEA10 is the first of its kind. When connected commonly used gesturing/hand movement on an IPad will control the connected remote camera.

Varicam35 and VaricamHS Firmware Enhancements

Within a custom built mini-set Varicam35 and VaricamHS camcorders will be on display showcasing new Version 4 firmware which enhances an already extensive list of functions. Version 4 firmware introduces anamorphic lenses support, ProRes 4444 (HD) on the main recorder, PreRec in ProRes and flexible ISO settings below ISO800/ISO5000 as well as other exciting functions.

AJ-PX Camera Series

Revolutionary new IT based broadcast media workflows are built into the new AJ-PX270EN, AJ-PX800G and AJ-PX5000G P2HD camcorders. These functions means that users can use existing Award Winning P2HD solid state workflows and then transition to live streaming, FTP upload and/or cloud based workflows such as P2-Cast** or LiveU without a total re-investment in cameras. Utilising IT networks revolutionises workflow through increases content delivery and content delivery flexibility.
