Utilities workers must be able to respond to emergencies quickly and efficiently, and they require computing solutions that stand up to the roughest weather conditions. Panasonic Toughbook mobile computers have earned a variety of important certifications required for use by utilities companies. These compliance standards establish interoperability and ensure products meet the standards of reliability demanded throughout the utilities sector.

About Australian Utility Week

Australian Utility Week is the new brand for Smart Utilities Australia & New Zealand which has run successfully in Australia for 11 years. The event focuses on smart technology and its implications for utilities, regulators and customers.

The theme for this year’s event is utility transformation and embracing disruptive technology. This reflects the influence that smart technology is having upon the power, water and gas markets – from changes to business models caused by such things as residential solar, to how customers are using social media and other community based platforms to influence policy makers and regulators.

This event is about the feedback loop that proponents of smart technology promised from the increased ability to gather and process data to create more informed decisions and ultimately to allow savings for utilities while empowering customers to better utilise their power of choice.
