LUMIX S SERIES

Panasonic Launches LUMIX S Series Full-frame Mirrorless Cameras

Panasonic is proud to introduce full specifications of the much-anticipated LUMIX S1R and S1, our first Digital Single Lens Mirrorless cameras to have a 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor.

The S Series brings acclaimed LUMIX capabilities to full frame shooting. Impressive first-in-class features will expand the scope of the professional photographer – from Dual I.S 2 stabilisation to 187-megapixel High Resolution Mode and Hybrid Log Gamma, multi-format dual memory card slots, and an OLED viewfinder with the world’s highest resolution*1

What’s more, the S Series features Leica Camera’s L-Mount, making it possible to use interchangeable lenses that meet the L-Mount specifications of Alliance partners, Leica Camera and Sigma. Panasonic is also offering three new S Series lenses at launch, with ten lenses to be announced by 2020.

The new LUMIX S Series delivers class-leading image quality, design and ergonomics for demanding professionals; and offers an unequalled videography feature set. This extraordinary camera system will have strong appeal to wedding and event photographers as well as studio and commercial professionals; and in other photographic fields that value the highest image quality possible.

LUMIX L-MOUNT

We Unveil Three New L-Mount LUMIX S Series Interchangeable Lenses

Panasonic is proud to introduce three new interchangeable lenses based on the L-Mount system for the LUMIX S Series Full-frame Digital Single Lens Mirrorless Camera. We’re also committed to designing and developing 10 or more lenses by 2020, with a focus on “LUMIX S PRO” lenses and further expanding the S Series lens line-up.

LUMIX S PRO 50mm F1.4 (S-X50) is a large-aperture fixed focal length lens that forms the core of the LUMIX S Series of lenses. LUMIX S PRO 70-200mm F4 O.I.S. (S-R70200) is telephoto zoom lens that features high resolution with stunning clarity across the entire zoom range. LUMIX S 24-105mm F4 MACRO O.I.S. (S-R24105) is a versatile standard zoom lens with macro shot capability covering wide-angle to medium telephoto.

All interchangeable lenses in the LUMIX S Series provide high performance. Furthermore, the “LUMIX S PRO” lenses boast the ultimate optical performance, certified by LEICA for clearing stringent LEICA standards.

In a full-frame first, the S-R70200 and S-R24105 lenses are compatible with LUMIX 5-Axis Dual I.S. (Image Stabilisation) 2, which delivers powerful stabilisation when used with the new LUMIX S1R and S1. Dual I.S. 2 technology combines 5-axis internal stabilisation with the optical image stabilisation in selected lenses*1, and can support up to 6 stops*2 of image stabilisation – enabling shooting still subjects handheld at much slower shutter speeds and ISO values.

All three new lenses feature a rugged dust/splash-resistant*3 design to withstand use under harsh conditions down to temperatures of -10 degrees Celsius.

Available in Australia from April 2019.

*1  5-Axis Dual I.S. 2 can be used with the LUMIX S1R/S1 as of February 1, 2019.
*2 Based on the CIPA standard [Yaw/Pitch direction: focusing distance f=200mm] when LUMIX S1R is used.
*3 Dust and Splash Resistant. To avoid damage when using lens under these conditions, it must be used in accordance with the associated instructions in the manual.
