Lumix Life – April GF1 Winner Announced!

April Lumix Life GF1 Winner – Wave Rock by Reza Behjat

Congratulations Reza Behjat, winner of a brand new LUMIX GF1 camera for his photo entry in Lumix Life: Focus on Australia. Chosen by iconic Australian photographer Ken Duncan out of over 2,000 LUMIX photos entered, Reza’s photo Wave Rock is a stunning shot capturing something vividly Australian.

Location: Hyden, WA.
Taken with a LUMIX DMC-FZ30 ( Exposure: 0.01 seconds, Aperture: F5.6, ISO: 80).

Judge Ken had this to say about the winning image:

It was hard to choose as there are a lot of good photo that have been submitted .The reason I selected this one is that I know this location and it is harder than people think to get a great shot of it. I think Reza has done a great job in capturing this image. Having it in Black and White really helps add drama to this shot. The cloud also adds interest to the sky. As a person who loves colour it seemed strange that I would go for a Black and White so please everyone don’t just send in Black and Whites but when a shot works it works. Congratulations Reza!

  • As President of the Shire of Kondinin Tourist Advisory Committee, I am thrilled to see this winning entry!! HYDEN[please correct spelling for location of photo] is in the shire of Kondinin and our commitee takes tourism very seriously as does the shire and try our utmost to promote Wave Rock along with many other granite out crops in our area, which extends to the Western Woodlands. Congratulations to Reza for the photo and a wonderful change to see the famous landmark in black and white, what a way to fill in time while waiting for his wife , resulting in a great new camera.
