Panasonic introduced Full HD integrated camera at InfoComm 2019

Meet the latest addition to the Panasonic PTZ integrated camera range, the new AW-HE42, which offers a significant improvement in lensing, stabilisation and interfacing. This Full HD Integrated camera was showcased in June for the first time at InfoComm, one of the biggest global audio-visual events in the industry.

The AW-HE42 is designed to produce high-quality video and precise control and movement for demanding remote production and IMAG applications – such as broadcast, conference rooms, live events, staging, distance learning and houses-of-worship

“The new AW-HE42 integrated camera is a significant new product for Panasonic and the broadcast industry as a whole. The flexibility and diverse use range is something that we expect industry professionals will appreciate and adopt into their daily workflow.

“The industry is constantly evolving and it’s important that we continue to deliver innovation and quality in our solutions, in order for our customers to produce outstanding visual content.”

– Mathew Alexander, Product Marketing Manager | Broadcast, Cinema & Professional Video, Panasonic Australia

The camera features a precision 20x optical zoom lenses, wide field of view and smooth PTZ for exceptional image quality. The intelligent zoom (up to 30x) also allows users to capture crisp close-ups even in large auditoriums, lecture halls and sporting arenas and stadiums.

Panasonic has also included Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS), advanced Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) and an ingenious High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode to produce outstanding video even in extreme contrast and lighting conditions.

One of the major features is also the Optical Image Stabiliser (OIS), which increases installation flexibility to work against vibrations caused by opening and closing doors, audio systems and other installed equipment.

In addition to a 20x optical zoom, the AW-HE42 features intelligent zoom (up to 30x) to capture crisp close-ups and exceptional image quality. It also delivers an impressive signal-to-noise ratio, 1000 TV lines of resolution and 16-axis colour matrix control for precise camera painting and matching

It’s All in the Optics

In addition to a 20x optical zoom, the AW-HE42 features intelligent zoom (up to 30x) to capture crisp close-ups and exceptional image quality. It also delivers an impressive signal-to-noise ratio, 1000 TV lines of resolution and 16-axis colour matrix control for precise camera painting and matching.

See in the Dark

For shooting in virtually total darkness, the Night Mode makes it possible to automatically switch to the capture of high-quality, HD monochrome video with the use of an (optional) IR (Infrared) illuminator in the 850nm range; making the camera ideal for reality show production, sleep lab research and staging support.

Professional Interfacing

The AW-HE42 provides an increased number of interfaces, including 3G-SDI, HDMI, IP (facilitating streaming and NDI|HX1 support), and genlock for camera matching in live production.

Versatile and Lightweight

The pan range of ±175° and the tilt range of -30° to +90° cover a wide shooting area. Pan and tilt operate at a maximum speed of 90° per second and respond quickly to remote control operation, with minimal noise disruption at a sound level of NC35 or lower. Up to 100 preset positions and camera settings are stored in the camera, which is more than enough for the most demanding large venue installation. The camera only weights 1.5kg and consumes just over 14.4 watts at 12 VDC.

The new AW-HE42 Integrated camera will be available in both black and white from Panasonic Broadcast dealers and distributors in July 2019.
