One of the main reasons we buy camcorders is so that we can capture the wonder of children growing up. Unfortunately the finished film product doesn’t always reflect the moments as well as we’d hoped. If you want to record films that the family will clamour to watch again and again, this little guide will really help to elevate the footage you capture.
Incorporate These Tips for Filming the Family
Once the kids start moving, it’s difficult to catch up! Follow these five great tips and you’ll soon be capturing more than just a blur! (Keep reading! There are more tips after the video!)
Tip 1: GET ON THEIR LEVEL
Crouch down to film your kids and you will see things from their perspective.
Tip 2: MOVE SLOWLY
You can avoid making your viewers feel seasick by panning slowly and steadily.
Tip 3: KEEP QUIET
Turn the radio and TV off and don’t talk as you film because the mic is closer to you than your subjects!
Tip 4: TAKE PART
Put your camcorder down on a table or chair to record and have fun with your kids.
Tip 5: SHARE
Edit together your best clips and share them with the family on the big screen and social media.
