Panasonic partners with Adventure for Change – Expedition Greenland

Adventure for Change turns a spotlight on compelling conservation stories through the medium of film, exploring the many inspiring ways people are working towards a sustainable future. In Expedition Greenland: Beyond the Comfort Zone, scientist and filmmaker Dr Dean Miller and the Adventure for Change Team  venture to the world’s largest island, Greenland.

Greenland is home to some of the most stunning and also fragile ecosystems in the world which are undergoing rapid changes and this is cause for serious concern. Miller’s expedition will last two months and will see them experience incredibly challenging conditions in the high Arctic region. By visiting some of the most remote regions of Greenland, their mission is to film and document the way global climate change is affecting this delicate environment and share this story with the world.

Panasonic is passionate about the future of Earth and creating a sustainable environment for generations to come that is in harmony with nature. In 2018 Panasonic celebrates its 100th anniversary and we have a goal to be the number one ‘Green Innovation’ company by this milestone.

With this commitment to the environment, Panasonic was thrilled to contribute to the filming of Expedition Greenland by providing the DMC-GH3 Digital Single Lens Mirrorless Camera and the AG-HPX250EN AVCCAM Professional Camcorder.

The DMC-GH3 is a camera that offers true-to-life pictures, advanced video recording features, fast contrast AF plus OLED monitor and live viewfinder. These features, along with the magnesium alloy body with splash and dustproof construction, make it ideal for the conditions Miller and and the team will be shooting in.

The AG-HPX250EN, meanwhile, offers full-HD 2.2 megapixel U.L.T 3MOS sensors, 22x HD lens with mechanical zoom, focus and iris rings, plus high quality full-HD 10-bit, 4:2:2 AVC-intra recording to P2 cards.

Suitably equipped, the team will make their way from base camp at Constable Point airport, with travel in the form of snowmobiles, ice trekking, mountain climbing, ski touring, snowboarding and dog sledding. The expedition will see them meet with local people, view rare and endangered wildlife and journey across glaciers, mountains and vast expanses of ice terrain to document their experience of Greenland.

By sharing these experiences with the world and alerting people to the dangers we all face, we can all get inspired to make a difference. Panasonic is pleased to be able to help in some way and will continue to seek out opportunities where we can make a difference.
