Banish bad smells in the fridge for good

Start with a clean slate

The first thing you need to do is deal with any lingering odour issues by giving the fridge a good clean-out. Yep, this means getting everything out of the fridge, cleaning the interior with a good natural surface cleaner and throwing away any food items that look a bit gross. Trust us; nobody needs ancient pickles or questionable condiments.

The sweet scent of vanilla

Vanilla extract is your refrigerators best friend. Mix some with water in a spray bottle to create a delicious-smelling fridge cleaning spray, or soak a cotton ball or a piece of sponge with vanilla extract and leave it in the refrigerator for a long-term deodoriser solution.

Vinegar – the versatile kitchen cleanser

You probably think that the vinegar in your cupboard is only good for salad dressings but it can actually be used as an effective and safe all-purpose cleaner. Simply dilute 50/50 with water and wipe over your fridges interior to stop bad smells in their tracks.

Good old-fashioned baking soda

Your Nana knew this trick and you really should too. Open a box of baking soda and leave it inside the fridge so that any odour molecules kicking around will be trapped by the rough spots and pores in the baking soda.

Let your fridge do the hard work

With a Panasonic fridge in your kitchen, you wouldn’t need to mess around with vanilla, baking soda and vinegar like an amateur chemist. By utilising a silver-coated filter with anti-bacterial and deodorising properties and an active enzyme to effectively remove unpleasant smells caused by items such as fish or strong cheese, a Panasonic fridge smells fresh and clean without all the effort.
