Panasonic Refrigerator Line-Up Delivers Greater Energy Efficiency

Panasonic Refrigerator Line-Up Delivers Greater Energy Efficiency

Panasonic Australia has announced it will further expand its growing home appliance range in 2012 – with a Refrigerator range featuring energy saving ECONAVI technology, features to keep food fresher for longer, and an easy to maintain, stylish design.

This latest announcement reaffirms the company’s focus on ECONAVI technology, which utilises Panasonic’s sensors and program control technologies to achieve optimal energy saving performance for each appliance depending on the user’s living environment and how they use them.

The technology incorporated in an ECONAVI Refrigerator uses four sensors – a light, door opening, temperature and internal temperature sensor –to analyse total energy use, adapt to the user’s lifestyle and save energy through efficient cooling.

“This smart Refrigerator starts to learn a family’s lifestyle patterns when it is installed and adapts over time to save energy accordingly, as well as adapting to fluctuating daily use – delivering a potential energy saving of up to 40 per cent compared with the non-ECONAVI model.” Said Mathew Harrison, Group Marketing Manager – Home Environment, Panasonic Australia.

“For example, it learns when meal times commonly occur by how frequently the fridge doors are being opened and closed; and reduces cooling power at times when the family is away from home; or when it senses room lighting has been switched off for the evening. The user doesn’t have to do a thing – this all happens automatically.”

Inverter technology means that, rather than just switching the compressor on and off to regulate the temperature, Panasonic models regulate compressor rotation according to the conditions, maintaining optimum temperature and reducing power wastage, as well as ensuring quiet operation. A microcomputer monitors internal temperature and an intelligent adjusting mechanism adjusts the compressor’s rotation speed based on the information received.

The new models are designed to freeze food quickly to retain flavour, and cooked meals can be put in the freezer without the need to cool them first, maintaining the original freshness after defrosting. Panasonic Refrigerators also feature Vitaminsafe technology, using blue and green LED lights in the vegetable compartment to keep fruit and vegetables fresher for longer.

Furthermore, Panasonic’s AG Clean silver-coated filter with powerful anti-bacterial properties cleans the circulating air to inactivate 99% of mould and bacteria inside the Refrigerator and reduce odours, keeping the family healthy.

The new range boasts a modern and stylish design that is easy to maintain, featuring graceful, curved corners for a soft overall look, as well as using front and side LED lighting and a spacious interior design for greater visibility. Users can also adjust settings such as Freezer Control, Energy Saving and Quick Freezing without needing to open the door, thanks to a convenient Intelligent Control Panel set into the door of the unit.

Details of Refrigerator models, pricing and availability will be announced in the coming months. More information about Panasonic Australia’s environmental activities can be found at www.panasonic.com.au.
