Entries are now open for Australia’s largest amateur photography competition, the 2016 Photographer of the Year. Held by Australian Photography magazine and presented by Panasonic, the competition celebrates Australia and New Zealand’s amateur photographers and offers a cash and product prize pool worth more than $34,000.

There are six portfolio categories to enter and for 2016 a new single-image category, Photo of the Year. Winning entries will be published in Australian Photography magazine and the overall winner will walk away with a LUMIX GX85 mirrorless camera and $3000 in prize money.
