Hi PanasonicAU,

Your blog posting here lists the availability of this camera in Australia as... "The LUMIX DMC-GH2 will be available in Australia in mid-November (2010) from authorised photographic retailers."

I have had an order in with my local photographic retailer here in Alice Springs since January 2011, and I just checked today March the 16th 2011, and still they have not been able to fill the order. Can you please provide an update on the availability of the camera in Australia? I understand people are able to source the camera from overseas via online ordering, but I am interested in availabilitiy in Australia from photographic retailers.

Thank you

Hi Carlo,

Yes the GH2 will support Full HD movie recording. Pricing is still to be confirmed.

Many Thanks,

What an amazing camera.. I would however like to make some constructive suggestions that would make it a camera I'd want to buy with no hesitations.

Please add 25P at 24mbits (camera does not support 25P)

Please add 30P also at 24mbits (if I go overseas where 60HZ power is used I'd like the option to capture at 30P to reduce flicker please).

Please put a standard microphone plug on the camera instead of a 2.5 mm plug - there is plenty of space on the camera body

Please also add audio out options (I like to make sure I can verify what its recording audio wise)

Please add the option on the camera of performing a speed test on the inserted SD card and then allowing the recording bitrate to be set at 95% of the maximum speed test to allow maximum video quality (The GH1 hacked firmware clearly shows the GH1 camera can capture at amazing quality if allowed)

Please add 4K mjpeg at variable user set FPS rates (1-40) with bitrate limited only by SD card speed.

4K rescaled to 1080P would offer amazing clarity that no current 1080P camera can achieve currently.

I believe un-crippling the camera would show true innovation and market leadership by panasonic and then your expression 'Advanced technologies to push the boundaries of creative expression' would be true.

What I see now, with the GH2 on various blogs is a camera that has been crippled so as to not hurt the AF100, because the hardware in the GH2 seems to be far more capable and amazing if allowed to operate at its full hardware potential.
