High Dynamic Range (HDR) opens up a new world of image quality

With High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatible VIERA TVs, we are delivering images much closer to the way your eyes see the real world by mastering the magic of light. Deep blacks combine with very bright highlights to produce a level of reality that’s never been possible before now on television screens.

This extraordinary new level of realism has been achieved because of the way HDR expands contrast ratio and colour accuracy. The bright parts of the image become so much brighter, giving images more depth, while the colour range has also been expanded to show more shades so that true colour is depicted on the screen as it is in real life.
