Panasonic Awarded Prestigious Industry Accolades for its Digital Imaging Technology
Panasonic wins two Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) Awards
Panasonic is proud to announce that it has been awarded two prestigious 2012 TIPA awards, widely recognised as one of the most coveted photo and imaging awards worldwide. Panasonic’s LUMIX DMC-GX1 was awarded the ‘Best Advanced Compact System Camera’ and the LUMIX G X Vario PZ 14-42mm won ‘Best Compact System Camera Expert Lens’.
Alistair Robins, Group Marketing Manager – LUMIX, Panasonic Australia, said: “We are very proud to receive the TIPA Award. Panasonic created the GX1 with close reference to customer feedback, and this pocket powerhouse has appeal not only to enthusiasts, but also those looking to take the next step in photography.
“We are continually adding to the Micro Four Thirds lens line-up with new and innovative offerings. An important focus for us along the way has been creating lenses that not only allow customers to take great still images, but also great video. The LUMIX G X Vario PZ 14-42mm opens this up to even more photographers. The DMC-GX1 with 12-42mm power zoom truly is the ultimate award winning kit.”

Panasonic’s LUMIX GX1, part of its range of LUMIX G Micro System Digital Cameras, was named ‘Best Advanced Compact System Camera’, following Panasonic’s LUMIX GH2 winning the Best Compact System Camera Expert category last year.
A TIPA jury spokesperson commented: “TIPA members were impressed with the build of the GX1, plus its Light Speed AF and Precise Contrast AF systems and 4.2 frames per second (fps) shooting capability. Other features of note include Full HD video, Touch AF, a wide range of creative controls and a brilliant 1,444,000 dot (optional) Live View Finder.”

Panasonic’s cutting-edge interchangeable lens for LUMIX G Micro System, the LUMIX G X Vario PZ 14-42mm, won the ‘Best Compact System Camera Expert Lens’ category.
A TIPA jury spokesperson commented: “Constructed with nine elements in eight groups, with four aspherical and two ED lenses, the Micro Four Thirds mount LUMIX G X 14-42mm lens is a power zoom, making it ideal for both still and especially video recording. An enhanced built-in Power O.I.S. optical image stabilisation feature aids in quality recording, and Nano Surface Coating technology results in a dramatic reduction of ghosting and flare.”
