The latest addition to the renowned Lumix FZ series continues to push the boundaries of photography, the remarkable DMC-FZ70. It features a Lumix DC Vario 20mm ultra wide-angle lens with a powerful 60x optical zoom that can be boosted to a 120x equivalent with the Intelligent Zoom function.
All that zoom is perfectly complimented by the POWER Optical Image Stabiliser (O.I.S.) that ensures blur-free shots even at the tele-end setting. The added Active Mode feature also means you can shoot or record while walking and still be sure of capturing stable images without blur.
The DMC-FZ70 has a fast start-up time of 0.9 seconds, Light Speed AF so you can quickly focus on moving subjects, and it supports burst shooting at 9 fps in 16.1-megapixel full resolution*2 and 5 fps with continuous AF. With such high-speed response you can be sure that every photo opportunity is yours to capture forever. You’ll also be able to record high quality Full-HD videos in AVCHD with realistic sound thanks to Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator and the new Windshield Zoom Microphone.
Photography enthusiasts will love the creative options available with full manual control features and a host of filters and retouch modes available for more expressive imagery.
This camera is unremarkable aside from its 60X zoom feature. As for the accessories such as the DMW-LC55 close-up enhancement and the essential lens adapter DMW-LA8, well, where are they? No one seems able to obtain them.
These problems aside, the camera has a major design flaw – the LED display panel doesn’t hinge out up or down! For me this renders many of those side on macro shots impractical…and as for celestial photography – try mounting it on a tripod and using it to view an object more that 70 degrees above the horizon. Had I know of this strange omission, I would never have bought this camera!
Hi John, the accessory parts mentioned are available to order from any of our authorised Retailers, although both are currently on backorder. We are happy to provide an ETA for the customer if you can confirm that they’ve placed an order for them and with who.
Thank you for your feedback in relation to the LCD, we will work to improve this with future models. The current FZ200 camera does have an articulated LCD screen however only 24x optical zoom.
