They seek to find an energy source wherein the source is not in any way detrimental to the environment and is sustainable, meaning it will not run out in the near future. However, this proves to be especially challenging because the usual case has been from the beginning, one or the other. In other words, you can have a sustainable source of energy but is detrimental to the environment, or you can have an environment-friendly source of energy that is not sustainable.

In recent years however, solar energy has taken the forefront of sustainable energy research. In fact, many environmentalists have stated that this is THE energy source that they have been waiting for. Manufacturers such as Panasonic have started to generate solar panels that are practical for home use.

Manufacturers such as Panasonic therefore, will help people who are struggling for their bills. This is because solar energy is a cheaper alternative to the electricity derived from fossil fuels. Also, many environmentalists have begun to propose the phasing out of the fossil fuel-derived electricity in lieu of the cheaper and more efficient solar energy.
