Panasonic Australia’s first ever Full HD Multimedia Camera Announced

Panasonic releases first ever FULL HD Multimedia Camera, available in September 2010

We’re proud to announce our Full High Definition Multimedia Camera, the HM-TA1, a new go-anywhere camera for easy video recording and image sharing.

Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand or pocket, the TA1 is designed with the active movie maker in mind. Designed for intuitive operation, the TA1 is the perfect companion for a social networker or blogger on the move. With an integrated USB terminal, editing and uploading to YouTube, Facebook or Flickr is a breeze. The TA1 records in MPEG-4 and is also compatible with Apple’s iFrame.

The TA1 can also be used with the Skype IP phone service. Simply connect the TA1 to a computer, and it becomes a web camera for free Skype-based video calls with family or friends anywhere.

“The TA1 fits so many great features in such a small body size. The ability to record in Full HD, instantly upload to the internet, its iFrame compatibility, and its capability to make free Skype based video calls as a web camera make the TA1 a one stop shop for avid social networkers and video makers. We are so excited about this new product here at Panasonic Australia, and we hope that our consumers are too,”
Sophie Barton, Group Marketing Manager Audio Visual, Panasonic Australia.

Features of the TA1 include a variety of video effect modes (Soft Skin, Sepia and Monochrome), as well as an inbuilt LED light allowing shooting in any conditions.

The Electrical Image Stabiliser (E.I.S) system minimises the hand-shake that often occurs with compact cameras. This ensures clear, blur-free images, even when walking or shooting self-portraits.

A handy 4x digital zoom makes it easy to bring subjects up close. It can also cut still images out of video recordings, with no need to connect any other device or to load the video into a PC for editing.
The Multimedia Camera’s USB terminal is located on the bottom of the TA1 and retracts into the camera body when not in use. By sliding out the terminal and plugging it into a PC, recorded images can be played and edited on a PC without having to use a connection cord. This makes it easy to share photos or videos over the Internet.

The built-in software, HD Writer PE 1.0, can directly upload video clips to YouTube or Facebook without having to launch a browser, for quick and easy image sharing. When e-mail software such as Outlook Express is registered in advance, an e-mail message with the URL for the uploaded video page already attached is automatically launched, making it easy to send emails to family and friends to notify them of the uploaded page.

The TA1 will be available in three colours , Gunmetal Grey, Brick Red and White.
