‘Focus On Australia’ Book Giveaway!

To celebrate the launch of the highly anticipated book ‘Focus on Australia’, we have twenty copies to giveaway right here on the blog!

After months of preparation and over 7,000 entries we’re extremely excited to announce the release of ‘Focus on Australia’. The book features over 150 pages of amazing images that were submitted by amateur photographers as part of a nationwide competition to capture the ‘Heart and Soul’ of Australia, all with a LUMIX camera. Focus on Australia Launched!

After months of preparation, we’re delighted to announce the official launch of the highly anticipated book, ‘Focus on Australia’.

Focus on Australia showcases winning photos from the nation’s best amateurs and professionals using LUMIX cameras, the stunning coffee table is available in all good book stores now as well as on Pro Shooter Ken Duncan’s official site here. ‘Focus on Australia’ features over 150 pages of amazing images that were selected from over 7,000 entries submitted by amateur photographers as part of a nationwide competition. Entrants were asked to put their Panasonic LUMIX cameras to the test and capture what they thought best represented the heart and soul of Australia – from exquisite landscapes and wildlife to some truly unique Aussie identities. Lumix Life winners announced and to be featured in ‘Focus on Australia, released in November

We’re delighted to have selected the winners of our ‘Lumix Life: Focus On Australia’ competition. All 100 winning images will now be published in ‘Focus on Australia’ alongside those of professional photographers such as Ken Duncan, Peter Eastway and Leo Meier in a book showcasing the best of Australian life, released in November. Lumix Life – June GF1 Winner Announced!

June Lumix Life GF1 Winner – ‘Camels by the sunset’ by Georgina Bowden.

Congratulations Georgina Bowden, the final winner of Lumix Life monthly prize and recipient of a brand new LUMIX GF1 camera for her photo entry in Lumix Life: Focus on Australia. Georgina’s photo shot on a tough Lumix FT1 was judged to be the winner from thousands of entries by iconic Australian photographer Ken Duncan.

The LUMIX Life competition is now closed and winners announcement will be made on the offiicial site on the Monday the 9th August. Thank you to all the entrants who have embraced the opportunity to take on the big guns of Australian photography. The range of images submitted was truly inspiring. We most definitely reached the goal of covering this great country of ours. You can still view over 7000 outstanding entries in the photo galleries which are now in the running to be part of Focus on Australia, where professionals and amateurs alike will be published side-by-side in a stunning publication showcasing the heart of our great land. Ken Duncan and the judges now have their work cut out of them selecting the winning images.

Ray Martin shoots Tasmania for Lumix Life

Ray Martin has been a journalist for 45 years, mostly in television and radio, starting his career as an ABC cadet. He’s been seriously taking photographs- some would say ‘obsessively’ – almost as long. As well as five Gold Logies for his televison work on news shows such as ‘ A Current Affair’, and ‘Sixty Minutes’, Martin was awarded an Order of Australia (A.M) in the 2010 Australia Day honours list for his work in journalism and for numerous charities.
