LCD technology has been around for over 100 years, however its use as the main component in a TV dates back only a decade or so.

An LCD panel does not produce light, it can only modify a light source shining through it. The principle of LCD technology is based on light polarization where the panel polarizes incoming light (conditions the light with a filter). This light then passes down a channel containing molecules in a state called liquid crystal. This is a state of matter (Solid liquid and gas) that exists in between a liquid and a solid.

The arrival of Panasonic’s high definition DMP-BD60 Blu-Ray and DVD player this month promises to vitalize your home entertainment experience.
