Panasonic Australia acts on E-Waste in Australia

Panasonic as an ‘Eco Ideas’ organisation with a stated goal of being the number one green innovation company by our 100 year anniversary in 2018 and as a member of Product Stewardship Australia (PSA) has been taking a leadership role in the construction and design of a TV recycling programme for Australia

Panasonic Australia and other major television and computer brands have committed to fund and operate a national e-waste recycling service that will cover metropolitan, regional and remote areas of Australia. The company has invested considerable effort and funds towards the combined industry program under the umbrella of ANZRP – the Australia and New Zealand Recycling Platform Limited. This industry-led arrangement is regarded as the most environmentally sound initiative to confront the growing volume of television and computer waste being generated by Australian households.

Panasonic backs Japanese student team as they tackle World Solar Challenge 2011

Panasonic Corporation has announced it will support the defending champions from Tokai University in their quest to be back to back winners of the World Solar Challenge (WSC) in Australia.

The Japanese university team will embark on the intense 3,000 kilometre journey through central Australia – one of the largest solar-powered car races in the world –starting in Darwin on 16 October, and anticipated to arrive in Adelaide on 20 October.

World Riderz leave Sydney and enter Malaysia

WorldRiderz Stephane Etienne and Paul Torriero have now completed the first section of their motorcycle journey between Sydney and Paris. Highlights so far have included hospital visits in Sydney and Brisbane visiting patients with chronic Kidney Disease as well as giraffes in Dubbo and the hotsprings in lighting bridge.

The WorldRiderZ goal is to raise awareness and money to support ongoing CKD research at Sydney Children’s Hospital, a world leader in paediatric renal and urological treatment. Funds raised will benefit research and the building of a ‘Global Renal Network’ to share information with Renal and Urology medical professionals across the five continents the WorldRiderz will visit during the three-month journey. Cyber-threat security consultancy named Australia’s best business

20 August, 2010 – An ACT business that provides vital security services for the digital economies of Australia and South-East Asia has taken top honours in the 18th National Telstra Business Awards in Sydney tonight.

stratsec is a world-class provider of independent information security consulting and testing services for blue-chip government and commercial clients in sectors including defence and national security, banking and finance, critical infrastructure, health, mining and telecommunications.

stratsec won the Telstra Australian Business of the Year Award after earlier being named the 2010 National Winner of the Panasonic Australia Medium Business Award.

Other winners of the 2010 Telstra Business Awards were teachers.on.net (SA), City Ceramics (NT), Soprano Design (NSW), Northern Project Contracting (QLD) and Kelly Engineering (SA).

Telstra CEO David Thodey said stratsec was an outstanding business selected from a group that had prospered despite the tough business conditions during the global financial crisis.
“All of the finalists and winners are role models because they have demonstrated that they have vision, resilience, competitive edge and a passion for serving their customers,” Mr Thodey said.
“Telstra’s 18-year support for the Awards is all about recognising the achievements of businesses such as stratsec.

Panasonic Australia provides technology for WorldRiderz Sydney to Paris charity motorbike ride

Panasonic Australia is providing rugged technology – including Toughbook computers and LUMIX cameras – to support the Worldriderz motorcycle ride from Sydney, Australia to Paris, France to benefit Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) research.

The WorldRiderZ goal is to raise awareness and money to support ongoing CKD research at Sydney Children’s Hospital, a world leader in paediatric renal and urological treatment. Funds raised will benefit research and the building of a ‘Global Renal Network’ to share information with Renal and Urology medical professionals across the five continents the WorldRiderz will visit during the three-month journey.
