3D light and sound show dazzles in Macau
February 18th, 2013

Macau is developing an international reputation for its larger than life casinos, and has recently attracted further attention after one of the world’s largest architectural 3D light and sound shows at the Venetian Hotel, ‘Winter in Venice’, was created by Australian entertainment communications company, Laservision.

Renowned for creating impressive multimedia attractions, special events and architectural lighting, Laservision, with a helping hand from Panasonic, has continued to impress with this latest display.

Utilising technologies used during the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, this visually stunning display spans over 4000sqm and has taken over 12,000 production hours and 35 crew members, including several Panasonic factory engineers from Japan.

The extraordinary sound and light show employs over half a million lumens of light power, projected onto The Venetian’s façade, which is provided by 26 high definition, large format,  liquid cooled Panasonic DZ21 video projectors – all seamlessly edge-blended to create a single, mammoth piece of dynamic art.

Chris Maw, Product Marketing Manager Projectors – Business Systems Group, Panasonic Australia, noted the show was the best of its kind he had seen and said, “The Winter in Venice exhibit is truly an impressive production, and is a fantastic example of the sort of high quality display that can be achieved with the new large format projectors such as the DZ21.”

Panasonic shines at Integrate 2012
September 21st, 2012

Innovation is a philosophy that sits at the heart of everything Panasonic does, from consumer to business products that enhance the way we live and work. At Integrate 2012, Australia’s largest audio visual, entertainment, information and communications technology event, Panasonic unveiled a number of exciting new products that stood out from the crowd.

The introduction of a high definition 3D video conferencing solution (HDVC) was the first time such a system has been released in the Australian market and the release has already seen the Australian Dental Association NSW Centre for Professional Development sign up for trials using the system to stream live high definition video for training purposes.

Also unveiled was the world’s first lamp-free projector series with HDBaseT™ technology. This new series of projectors replaces a conventional lamp with new LED/laser diodes boosted by Panasonic’s proprietary technologies for long lasting high brightness of more than 3,000 lumens. In another world first, a high brightness compact LCD projector with HDBaseT™ technology simplifies the wiring, installation and maintenance for projectors.

The firsts kept coming with Panasonic’s first ever LED video wall display featuring stunning picture quality with high brightness and an ultra-narrow bezel for near seamless wall installation. A 65 inch interactive plasma display also garnered attention, offering an ideal means of delivering highly effective and innovative presentations across a wide variety of situations.

Finally, Panasonic announced the thinnest LED LCD display solution for digital signage and large venues. Its light weight makes it ideal for ceiling-suspension and offers greater installation flexibility, while still delivering large screen images for digital signage applications and large venues.

Panasonic will continue to innovate and push the boundaries with the aim of creating more advanced, powerful and effective solutions for both the business and consumer markets.

Panasonic P2 Recording Format Honoured with Technology & Engineering Emmy Award.
January 24th, 2012

Panasonic Corporation was honoured with an Technology & Engineering Emmy Award for its pioneering development of removable solid-state media for video camera/recorders.

The Emmy was specifically presented for the companys creation of the P2 video recording format.

The ground-breaking P2 recording media and accompanying hardware were introduced in 2003 and provided a substantial improvement in workflow by being file based with computer editing, a significant reduction in maintenance and operating costs by eliminating mechanical transports from cameras and recorders, and an overall higher reliability.

With the industry’s first solid-state, no-moving-parts design, P2 products have dramatically reduced the downtime associated with mechanical issues. P2 products are better able to perform in extreme environments and are resistant to temperature extremes, shock and vibration, unlike mechanical tape, hard disk and optical disc-based systems. Reducing the ongoing cost of acquisition, P2 cards can be used reliably again and again, without deterioration in quality.

“Panasonic is honoured to receive the coveted technical Emmy for its pioneering efforts in the development of solid-state video recording,”

said John Baisley, Executive Vice President, Panasonic Systems Communications Company of North America (PSCNA). “Since its inception nearly a decade ago, the P2 recording format has provided video users extensive productivity benefits and Panasonic continues development of the P2 format with new HD and now 3D models.”

Panasonic’s current line-up of high-capacity P2 cards offers transfer speeds substantially faster than most professional solid-state memory cards offered by other manufacturers. All P2 cards use high-quality solid-state memory, extremely durable, die-cast aluminum construction and impact-proof connectors. Additionally, P2 cards facilitate dependable performance during recording in all types of environments, as well as instant access and complete data compatibility in all P2 camcorders and workflow tools.

Panasonic accepted the Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at an awards ceremony held at Las Vegas’ Venetian Hotel during the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show.
